Brazilian Feijoada My Way

This is a brazilian recipe, but I do it my way, because I don't remember how my mom does it, and since I'm always looking for fast recipes, I don't use the dry black beans like she does, I use canned, so it's easier.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans of black beans
  • 1/2 pound beef ribs
  • 1/2 pound pork meat
  • 1/2 pound smoked ham hock
  • 2 sausages (preferably brazilian)
  • 1 onion minced
  • 4 garlic minced
  • 1 tomato cubed
  • 2 beef bullion cubes
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 bay leafs
Cut all the meats into 1 inch pieces. Cut the sausages into 1/2 inch pieces. In a large pot drizzle a teaspoon of olive oil. Heat the pot at medium high heat, then brown the sausage in the oil. Once the sausage is brown, remove from the pot and place all the meats. Brown them for five minutes, then add all the other ingredients except the black beans. Cook covered for 20 minutes and add the beans. Cook covered for 8 minutes. Remove from heat. Serve over white rice and enjoy.
